Two new Paddington movies and TV series in the works | Films | Entertainment
Since 2014, StudioCanal UK has produced the much-loved live-action animated Paddington films.
Paul King directed the first two flicks starring Ben Whishaw as the voice of Michael Bond’s Paddington Bear, with Paddington 2 going down as our greatest film of the 21st century so far.
A third film, Paddington in Peru, with a new director and writer, and Emily Mortimer replacing Sally Hawkins as Mrs Brown, followed two years ago.
And now two new Paddington films have been announced at CinemaCon in Las Vegas today, where the Daily Express is reporting live from.
StudioCanal CEO Anna Marsh announced that Paddington 4 is now in development, with a team of yet-to-announced comedy writers set to pen the script. If that wasn’t enough, she also confirmed that a separate animated Paddington film is in the works, alongside a previously announced new Paddington TV series. After a trip to Peru in the third film, presumably the comic bear will be returning to London in the next movie. We’d certainly like to see Hugh Grant reprise his currently incarcerated villain Phoenix Buchanan in the fourthquel.
