It might only be the beginning of November, but festive adverts are back on our screens, and Marks and Spencer has launched theirs, once again, with comedy legend Dawn French in her starring role as the retailer’s much-anticipated M&S Food Ad. And, we’ve found her exact dress, which is already starting to sell out online.

In the ad, a frazzled Dawn is seen stuck in traffic while driving home for the holidays, but she’s reunited with the Christmas fairy (also played by her), who helps restore her Christmas spirit. It isn’t long before the comedian appears in the perfect party outfit.

This lovely chiffon dress comes from the M&S Per Una range, and costs £65. Made from a delicate, layered chiffon fabric, it’s a great way to add a touch of sparkle without going all out, as it’s decorated with a sparse, subtle sequin pattern.

It comes in a mini length, but its relaxed fit, tiered skirt and ruffled details give it a playful, feminine feel. The dress is long-sleeved and made from a sheer fabric, so it comes with a removable slip that can be worn underneath for added coverage.

One shopper said it was “a fabulous dress for the Christmas period”, and we agree – it’s a great, flattering option for the upcoming festive season, and can easily take you from day to night.

It’s perfect for a more casual festive lunch, or an office Christmas party, but can be dressed up with sparkly tights and heels for dressier events.

Normally, sizes range from 6 to 24, but the dress is already out of stock for sizes 20-24, and according to M&S, it continues to sell quickly after its star appearance.

Last year, the plaid pyjamas Dawn wore in the M&S Christmas advert sold out, and if you missed out the first time, you can get them this year, as they’ve returned to the M&S website.
