A “modern” lamp retailing for a mere £6 at Dunelm is causing quite a stir among shoppers, bearing an uncanny resemblance to a pricier counterpart available at John Lewis. Dunelm remains a popular choice for those hunting for reasonably priced homeware, furnishings, and items for gardens, kitchens and children.

Among its extensive lighting range, Dunelm offers the Hebe Ribbed Ceramic Table Lamp at a steal. The retailer notes that the item comes in a variety of colours to match diverse decor styles and interiors.

It added: “This great value contemporary table lamp is designed with a modern ribbed ceramic base and comes with a soft fabric shade. Easy to switch on and off with an in-line switch, so there’s no fuss in the dark to switch the lamp on. This table lamp is available in a range of colours to suit any home interior.”

Customers have left numerous glowing reviews as well, with one stating: “I ordered these cheaper ones and love them. They are so cute, perfect for by the bed, and I have it on the top of a bunch of books – once again Dunelm has the perfect solution.”

Another pleased customer shared: “Absolutely love these! They are not just perfect for small bedside tables, but the price is so good, absolute bargain.”

A third chimed in: “A fab little lamp, perfect for our baby girl’s bedroom. A beautiful pale pink colour too!”

Meanwhile, a similar lamp at John Lewis might put more pressure on your finances, with the Country Rib Table Lamp carrying a hefty £160 price tag.

The product description states: “This beautiful, large ceramic rounded-shaped lamp has textured ribs and an off-white matt glaze, along with a large oatmeal faux linen shade.”

Despite the significant cost, shoppers seem just as pleased with it. “I was looking for a neutral lamp for my lounge, this does the job,” one said.

“It is quite large, would suit contemporary or traditional décor and gives off good light. A lovely addition to any room. Well made. Well packaged for delivery.”

Another added: “Great size, great design, I love it! It is just what I was looking for,” while a third wrote: “I am delighted with it. It’s a lovely big chunky lamp and just what I was looking for as I have a large lounge.”

That’s not to say both lamps are the same. For example, the John Lewis design boasts a far more spherical base and comes in just two colours – myrtle and cream – whilst Dunelm buyers enjoy greater variety with six options available.

Those wanting additional details about the John Lewis lamp can browse product photographs, measurements and organise home delivery via the retailer’s official website. Moreover, if you opt for the more budget-friendly choice at Dunelm, the same information is available on the Dunelm website.
