Linda was an American photographer, musician and activist, who was the first woman to have her pictures on the cover of Rolling Stone. She married McCartney in 1969 and the pair collaborated in his post-Beatles band Wings, while she became a vegetarian and animal welfare activist. Linda died in 1998, aged 56, from cancer.
