Days after a Trump-affiliated TikTok account used Taylor Swift’s “August” in a video, the singer has managed to get her song removed from the clip.

Earlier this week, the Team Trump account — created during the 2024 presidential campaign — posted a video of Donald and Melania Trump watching fireworks with Swift’s “August” soundtracking the clip. “I’m sure @Taylor Swift is going to be super excited we used her song! #taylorswift #maga #august,” the caption teased.

However, on Friday, U.S. users noticed that the Folklore track had been removed from the offending TikTok, with the message, “The copyright owner hasn’t made this sound available in your country.”

In the aftermath of Swift’s endorsed Kamala Harris in the 2024 election and Trump’s declaration that “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,” the Team Trump account has antagonistically used the singer’s music in their TikToks on several occasions.

It wasn’t just “August” that was removed from a Team Trump TikTok: Variety reports that a Team Trump video using Swift’s “Father Figure” that was posted back in November 2025 also had its sound stripped. However, it’s not a blanket removal, as an official White House TikTok video from last November is still soundtracked by “The Fate of Ophelia.”

The White House also couldn’t resist prodding Swift when the singer married Travis Kelce at Madison Square Garden, unleashing a series of memes on the day of the wedding in July.

The president’s distaste for Swift goes back ever farther than the most recent election. Ahead of the midterm elections in 2018, Swift voiced her support for Democratic Senate candidate Phil Bredesen over Republican Marsha Blackburn in Tennessee. The then-president fielded a question on Swift’s stance outside of the White House.

“I’m sure Taylor Swift knows nothing, and doesn’t know anything about [Blackburn],” Trump said, adding, “I like Taylor’s music about 25 percent less now, OK?”
