Unfortunate but expected news for fans heading to Morrissey’s Las Vegas residency next week: The singer has canceled his four shows at the Wynn, citing “unforeseen logistical challenges.”

Morrissey was scheduled to begin his four-night stand at the Wynn Las Vegas’ Encore Theater on August 14. However, ticket buyers — many of whom also purchased travel and accommodation in order to see the singer in Sin City — were informed Friday that the shows had been canceled.

“Hello, we regret to inform you that Morrissey – Live in Concert, scheduled for August 14, 15, 18, and 19 at Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas, has been canceled,” an email to fans said. “Due to unforeseen logistical issues, the scheduled Las Vegas residency cannot take place.”

While Morrissey’s official website hasn’t acknowledged the cancelation — the shows are still listed on the Morrissey Official site — the Wynn has removed the shows from their Entertainment page, and the Ticketmaster listings for the shows state, “Unfortunately, the Event Organizer has had to cancel your event.”

It’s unclear what “unforeseen logistical issues” are preventing Morrissey from staging the residency next week; the singer last performed live a week ago, August 1 in Portugal.

To borrow Vegas parlance, fans are really rolling the dice buying tickets to see Morrissey in 2026, as the odds aren’t great that the concerts will actually happen: Morrissey kicked off the year by canceling California concerts — shows that were rescheduled from 2025 — “due to an adverse reaction to a prescription medication.”

His Atlanta show was nixed “due to artist illness,” his St. Louis show was canceled day of because of “flu,” his Dominican Republic show was canceled for “reasons completely beyond our control” the organizers said, a St. Petersburg, Florida show was canceled without explanation, and a gig in Valencia, Spain was called off because of “sleep deprivation” due to a loud festival nearby that “left Morrissey in a catatonic state.”

In recent years, Morrissey has become somewhat notorious for canceling or postponing gigs for a wide variety of reasons; he canceled 22 scheduled performances in 2025 alone, with another 10 gigs postponed.

Fingers crossed, Morrissey is next scheduled to perform in mid-September at Chicago’s Riot Fest.
