Shoppers praise arch support sandals for comfort

As temperatures climb, many shoppers struggle to find summer footwear that offers proper support. In the colder months, it’s much easier, with a wide range of trainers and boots available, but these options aren’t always practical for warmer weather or holidays in sunnier climates.

What often goes unnoticed is that Amazon carries a broad selection of footwear, including styles designed with built-in arch support. Right now, the retailer is offering 30% off the ONCAI Walking Sandals, reducing the price to £35.99 from £51.99.

One verified buyer shared: “These sandals are the best orthopaedic pair I’ve found, with excellent instep support. I’ve walked miles in them without any pain or swelling, and they’re incredibly comfortable. I’ve even ordered another colour.”

The ONCAI Walking Sandals feature cushioned arch support, with the manufacturer indicating they represent a practical option for those experiencing painful conditions such as plantar fasciitis. The principal characteristic is a 30° high-rebound footbed engineered to provide comfort throughout the day, purporting to ‘reduce fatigue or plantar fasciitis and prevent foot pain’.

Made from vegan leather, described as ‘comfortable and breathable’, they feature three adjustable foot straps. The ONCAI Walking Sandals are available in sizes 4-10, and come in a range of colours, including seasonal tan.

Elsewhere, the Skechers GO WALK Slip-Ons are priced at £80 and are available in sizes 2-8. They feature a cushioned spongy heel and a contoured footbed, and come in four colourways, reports the Daily Record.

Another footwear brand specialising in supportive styles is Vionic. Their Walk Max Wanderer Sandals retail at £135 and are promoted as a ‘performance walking sandal’. It’s fair to say that sandals with proper arch support rarely come at a bargain price.

What is hard to overlook is the impressive 1,000 reviews garnered by Amazon’s ONCAI Walking Sandals. One delighted customer said: “These came today and look great and feel great on. They feel like you’re walking on air. They have a high insole but soft and comfortable. They have three adjustable Velcro straps, one at the toes, ankle and heel. They look great on too, so a great buy, thanks.”

One buyer offered a more balanced assessment, noting: “The sandals have given me very good comfort for my plantar fasciitis issue. I have hard floor at home. I use these sandals at home and these have been very helpful in relieving me of the heel pain. They fit very well, and the straps are adjustable.”

They did, however, point out a minor issue with the sandals, adding: “The only small thing is that the Velcro gets stuck to clothes or socks, which is more of a Velcro issue. Very happy and will recommend it for people having heel pain.”

A fourth purchaser said: “Very happy with these sandals. I first saw a friend wearing a pair and wanted one instantly as it looked so comfortable and gave you an instant lift, which is great if you are petite like me. I went with a size 6 even though I am kind of in between 5 and 6.

“These were perfect and fit me perfectly. I like that I can adjust the straps to make it more secure, which is great for my slim feet. I have not stopped wearing them since I got them, and now my sister and mum want a pair too. Love them.”
