Royal Mail warns 82 postcodes facing delivery delays — full list

It said: “Last night, a vehicle carrying some mail from our Edinburgh Mail Centre arrived at our Midlands Parcel Hub later than planned.

“As a result, some mail posted in parts of the DD, EH, FK, KY, PH and TD postcode areas, for delivery across London, the South East, the South West and parts of Wales may arrive later than planned.”

Not all correspondence was processed or dispatched according to schedule at its mail centres, particularly Romford Mail Centre, reports the Mirror.

Royal Mail said: “Some mail posted in parts of the E, IG and RM postcode areas, for delivery across other parts of the UK.”

As of Tuesday, March 10, 82 postcodes are experiencing hold-ups throughout the UK. Locations such as Glasgow, Oxford, Sunderland, Bristol and Pontyclun are affected by disruption at 30 delivery offices.

The postal service said: “We aim to deliver to all addresses we have mail for, six days a week.

“In a small number of local offices, this may temporarily not be possible due to local issues such as high levels of sick absence, resourcing, or other local factors.

“In those cases, we will rotate deliveries to minimise the delay to individual customers.
