Popular sun cream recalled for not having SPF level it claims
A popular sun cream has been recalled from customers after it was discovered to not meet the level of SPF on its label. The product has been immediately recalled and customers have been urged to stop using it straight away.
The recall affects Hello Sunday The One For Your Eyes SPF 50, which is sold in Boots stores across the UK and online. All batch numbers and expiry dates are included in the recall. The product has been sold by various retail outlets, not just Boots.
Boots has issued a recall notice to its customers as they explained: “Recent test results by the brand showed that the product failed to meet the level of SPF stated on the product label. As such, the product is being immediately recalled.”
They added: “Customers are asked to stop using the product immediately and to return the product to the point of sale for a full refund.”
If you purchased the Hello Sunday The One for Your Eyes – Mineral Brightening Eye Cream SPF50 with peptides 15ml through an authorised retail partner, you should contact them directly for a refund.
For anyone who purchased the item from Boots, they have been asked to return it to their local store where they will be given a refund.
Hello Sunday sell a wide range of SPF beauty products including lip balms, moisturisers and makeup primers. They have spoken out on the recall and urged their customers to stop using the product “immediately”.
The brand said they have not received reports of any incidents related to the recall issue. Hello Sunday shared: “At Hello Sunday, the efficacy of our products is treated extremely seriously.
“As a brand built on transparency, we hold ourselves to the highest possible standards, and we are truly sorry that this product has not met the expected level of performance.”
For customers who want further information, they have been told to contact the brand directly at customer.service@hellosundayspf.com.
It comes just days after a popular shampoo and conditioner set was recalled from Amazon due to containing a banned ingredient. The Pilgrim Anti-Dandruff Shampoo and Conditioner Set was found to contain Zinc Pyrithione, which is prohibited for use in cosmetic products.
