Next James Bond odds slashed in half on Wuthering Heights’ Jacob Elordi | Films | Entertainment
The next James Bond is highly expected to be announced this year, once Amazon reboot director Denis Villeneuve has finished post-production on Dune: Part Three.
Rumours abound that he’s had 007 talks with Australian hunk Jacob Elordi, who stars opposite Margot Robbie in Emerald Fennell’s new adaptation of Wuthering Heights next week.
The 28-year-old is 6ft 5 and previously starred as Elvis Presley in the Priscilla biopic. He’s also recently received his first Oscar nomination for playing the monster in Guillermo Del Toro’s Frankenstein.
If he is cast, he will be the second Aussie to bag the role since George Lazenby in the late 1960s.
Over the last couple of days, Elordi’s odds to be cast as Bond have been slashed in half from 8-1 down to 4-1.
Coral’s John Hill said: “Jacob Elordi is a big mover in our next James Bond betting. He started the week as a 16-1 outsider, but at just 4-1 now, his odds suggest he is a big player for the role of 007.”
The full next Bond odds are: 4-7 Callum Turner, 3-1 Aaron Taylor-Johnson, 4-1 Jacob Elordi, 6-1 Henry Cavill, 8-1 Tom Hiddleston, 8-1 Theo James, 10-1 Anthony Boyle, 12-1 Harris Dickinson, 16-1 Jack Lowden, 16-1 James Norton.
