Marks and Spencer shoppers have branded a linen vest as “versatile” and a “summer staple”. The high street store has received many positive reviews for the top.

The Vest with Linen is priced at £20 and comes in sizes six to 24. There is also the option of beige, white, black or dark marine. Marks and Spencer’s product description reads: “This vest is crafted from fabric with a touch of breathable linen for a cool and comfortable feel.

“It’s cut in a regular fit, with a timeless round neckline and sleeveless silhouette. The button and keyhole fastening adds a neat finish at the back.”

The vest is made from 15% linen and 85% viscose. It is proving popular with shoppers, with some sizes selling out online.

One shopper said: “Love, love, love these vests. Perfect cut and very stylish. I have [it] in multiple colours.” Another added: “It fits beautifully and is lovely soft linen and washes great.”

Someone else commented: “Very comfy and cool in the weather we have had. Ideal.” A fourth wrote: “The top is very nice and comfortable just what I needed for the hot weather it fits nice and a nice length too.”

Another shared: “Perfect little tops! Versatile & great value. I’ve bought both the Black & White colours.” A customer echoed: “Love the fit, feel like this is going to be my summer staple.”

Despite the positive reviews, some shoppers have struggled with the sizing and length. One said: “Too short it was, neither cropped nor regular length, just somewhere in between, and didn’t look right with any trousers or jeans.”

Another added: “I love the look of the tops, but the sizes are very small in big size & not worth the money honestly.”

Someone else commented: “The sizing is all over the place with these tops. I ordered the blue and the white in size 10, and the blue fit perfectly, but the white was too small. I reordered the white in a 10 and a 12, and they are both exactly the same size as each other.”

Marks and Spencer isn’t the only high street store to sell linen blend vests. Uniqlo has Linen Blend Blouse (Sleeveless) in seven different colours for £24.90.

It comes in off-white, black, red, natural, brown, dark green and light blue. The vest comes in sizes extra, extra small through to extra, extra large.

Meanwhile, Next has The Set 2 Pack Shell Tank Top With Linen, which includes a black vest and a chocolate brown vest for £26. The set comes in sizes eight to 20.
