10 ‘old-fashioned’ vintage baby names making a comeback this year
The UK’s most popular names have been revealed by the Office for National Statistics (ONS), based on last year’s birth registrations. Olivia continues to hold the top spot for British girls, followed by Lily and Amelia.
For the third consecutive year, Muhammad remains the most popular name for boys across the UK. While the top 10 shows little variation from previous years, a number of fresh names have broken into the top 100, including several “old-fashioned” choices, signalling a shift in trends.
New entries for baby girls include Marnie, Eliana, Gracie, Anaya, Alba, Lilah, and Frankie. For boys, Vincent, Carter, Stanley, and Ruben have made their debut in the top 100.
