M&S shoppers brand £28 trousers ‘so comfortable for hot weather’

Marks and Spencer’s description reads: “These linen-blend trousers are a handy addition to your wardrobe. Tapered fit, with a flattering high waist. The waist is elasticated with a drawstring fastening for easy adjustment. Pockets are a practical feature.”

The trousers are made from 55% linen and 45% viscose. One shopper said: “These linen rich trousers are the second pair I have purchased they are so comfortable and light. Great for this hot weather we have been experiencing.”

Another added: “These are a really nice quality linen trousers. Love the feel of the material again my skin, very cooling in the hot weather. Will be a summer staple that will be good to wear with my summer tops. Great price and a perfect length.”

Someone else commented: “Comfortable and cool to wear in this hot weather. So glad I bought them.” A fourth wrote: “These are my 3rd pair, bought 2 last year but have lost weight so am replacing them.

“Great quality, feel lovely to wear. Don’t need ironing after washing. Can be worn casually or dressed up.”

Not all Marks and Spencer’s shoppers were happy with their purchase, however. Some found the trousers arrived “crumpled” when ordering online and others didn’t like the fabric material.

One said: “I ordered two pairs of these trousers. They arrived in a bag, crumpled so much that I wouldn’t even iron them, material poor quality.”

Another added: “Not a nice fabric, a scratchy linen, I was hoping to use some fabric softener but label says not to. I have returned them.”

Someone else commented: “Arrived in a green plastic bag far too small for trousers! Creased so badly! Sending straight back, not even trying on!!!”

Marks and Spencer’s isn’t the only high street store to sell linen-rich trousers ideal for summer. New Look has Linen Blend Wide Leg Trousers in black, white, mink, rust, dark brown, green and red.

They were priced at £26.99, but have now been reduced. The black, white and dark brown trousers are now down to £20.24, and the mink, rust, green and red are now £16.19.

Next also has Pull On Tapered Trousers With Linen in navy blue and black for £20. The trousers come in either regular or petite and sizes four to 26.
