Latin Music Revenue Hits $490 Million in First Half of 2024

This marks the 12th year in a row that Latin music revenue has grown

In case Bad Bunny headlining the 2026 Super Bowl wasn’t indication enough, Latin music continues to grow at an exponential rate in the United States. On Friday, the Recording Industry Association of America revealed that Latin music generated $490.3 million in revenue during the first half of 2024 — marking a 6 percent increase from the previous year.

“Latin music in the US continues to gain popularity and generate increased value thanks to the incredible artists whose music connects across language and geographical barriers with support from creative label partnerships,” said RIAA VP of Research Matt Bass. “At a mid-year high approaching half a billion dollars, Latin music continues to earn new listeners and invigorate existing fans.”

According to the new data, this is the 12th consecutive year that revenue is up for the genre overall. Latin music aso now makes up 8.8 percent of the total music revenue for the United States in the first half of 2024.

“With streaming offering more access than ever to legacy voices and next generation icons defining today’s culture, Latin has become the second-fastest growing genre in America,” added Bass.

In streaming numbers, 98 percent of Latin revenue came from streaming services, with paid subscription revenue driving an 11.2 percent growth. The number of accounts listening to Latin music also went up to 105 million from the previous year. While Latin music dominated streaming, it saw a 25 percent drop in vinyl and other physical sales, going from $5.5 million in 2023 to $4.1 million this year.
