J Balvin and Ryan Castro are finally letting the world know what they’ve been up to. The two Colombian musicians just announced collaborative album Omerta. Prior to the announcement, Balvin and Castro have been inseparable this year — they went to the Grammys together, performed at Premio lo Nuestro 2026, and even teamed up for singles, “Tonto” and “Pal Agua.”

Omerta arrives on May 7 and marks the pair’s first collaborative project together. Along with the exciting news, Balvin and Castro have unveiled the 10-song track list, which features Eladio Carrión, DJ Snake, and SOG, Castro’s trusted producer and fellow Colombian. They’ve also shared an in-depth album teaser starring Sofía Vergara, Colombian actor Marlon Moreno, Balvin’s wife Valentina Ferrer, and Carrión.

Of course, the album is undeniably Colombian, honoring both Balvin and Castro’s Medellín roots. A press release confirms that Omerta is “built from values that trace back to Medellín” and is “a chronicle of family, values, and the code that binds them.” Expounding on “the code,” the release explains, “J Balvin and Ryan Castro live the code behind [the album]: every verse and rhythm guided by loyalty, respect, and the weight of one’s word.”

If that brings to mind a mob-like ethos, it’s by design. The visuals for “Tonto” and “Pal Agua” take inspiration from gangster movies like The Godfather, Scarface, and Pulp Fiction with a few goofy nods to Who Framed Roger Rabbit. In the videos, Balvin and Castro sport dapper suits, flaunt an extravagant lifestyle, and pledge their loyalty to one another.

From the features to the cinematic world-building, it seems Omerta is a next-level project. As the press release reads: “J Balvin and Ryan Castro are not just collaborating — they’re establishing something lasting, defined by a shared foundation that gives the music its meaning.”
