The president of Colorado State University, Amy Parsons, announced last week that she will step down from her post at the end of this calendar year. She has held the position since 2023.
Her message to campus did not include a reason for her departure. She and her husband will remain in Fort Collins, she wrote.
“I believe deeply in Colorado State University and in our ability to create opportunity, generate knowledge, serve Colorado, and make a meaningful difference in the world,” Parsons wrote. “CSU has never been just where I work. It has been the backdrop to my family’s life, the source of many of my closest friendships, and the institution that has shaped me as a student, professional, leader, and person.”
Parsons is a CSU alumna and worked in the university system’s office for 17 years in various leadership roles before taking the top job at CSU’s main campus.
Rick Miranda, the chief academic officer of the system since 2012, will serve as interim president.
