Avengers Doomsday leak teases insane fight between two major unannounced stars | Films | Entertainment

Avengers Doomsday already has a whopping cast. Robert Downey Jr’s evil Doctor Doom will face off against Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers, Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, the Fantastic Four, the New Avengers, the X-Men and more.

But Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige and directors The Russo Brothers have teased that some stars are yet to be announced, or may even surprise us with cameos when we sit in the cinema come Christmas.

One big rumour is that Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine will be showing up after their box office record-breaking solo movie.

The latter is considered one of the original big-screen Marvel superheroes. And by the sounds of it, he’s about to battle another one.

According to scooper MyTimeToShineHello: “In Avengers Doomsday, Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man fights Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine while their Earths are about to crash into each other.”

Maguire reprised his Peter Parker alongside Tom Holland and Andrew Garfield’s incarnations in Spider-Man: No Way Home, so it makes a lot of sense for him to return in Doomsday and/or the follow-up, 2027’s Avengers Secret Wars.

A fight between those two would be incredible, especially given that their Marvel franchises were originally outside of Disney at Sony and Fox.

Disney’s Marvel Studios now owns Fox’s rights to the X-Men and Fantastic Four, while also retaining a Sony deal for Spider-Man to appear in MCU movies.

As for “their Earth are about to crash into each other”, Doomsday and Secret Wars are the epic two-part conclusion to the Multiverse Saga, and fans are predicting that – just like in the Secret Wars comics – the different timelines will collide into one known as Battleworld.

Avengers Doomsday hits cinemas December 18 and Avengers Secret Wars follows a year later. Although there is currently a rumour that the latter may be split into two movies.
