A dog who survived losing an eye and bravely battled cancer is still waiting for the one thing he’s never had – a family to call his own.

Santa has endured more heartbreak than most dogs could ever imagine, yet despite everything he’s been through, he still greets everyone he meets with a wagging tail and a gentle nature.

The resilient dog was found abandoned on the streets of Nemea, Greece, suffering from a devastating eye injury.

Sadly, the damage was so severe that vets had no choice but to remove the eye.

Just as rescue dog Santa began recovering from the operation, he was dealt another cruel blow.

He was diagnosed with penile cancer and once again had to undergo surgery, followed by another long and painful recovery.

Against all the odds however, Santa pulled through.

He is now fgree-free, healthy and recovering well in a temporary foster home, where he has shown just how loving and forgiving he really is.

Despite losing an eye and surviving cancer, Santa hasn’t lost his trust in people.

The calm and affectionate dog loves human company, gets on brilliantly with other dogs and is happiest simply lying beside the people he loves.

His rescuers say Santa doesn’t know he’s different.

He doesn’t know he’s missing an eye or that he overcame cancer. He simply wakes up each day hoping somebody will finally choose him.

Greek Stray ResQ & Support, the charity caring for Santa, says his story is one of incredible resilience and kindness.

After everything he has endured, they believe he deserves the chance to experience the love, safety and security of a forever home.

His rescuers are now appealing for someone to look beyond his missing eye and see the extraordinary dog underneath.

After fighting the hardest battles of his life, Santa is now searching for the happy ending in the UK he’s waited so patiently for.

Commenting on his rehoming post, one user said: “He’s gorgeous do hope someone out there can give this beautiful dog his forever home.”

Another user added: “They truly are angels from heaven. People should respect, love, and be kind to them always. Thank you for all you do. God bless these innocent souls and all of you wonderful people.”
