Not glass cleaner – make shower screens look good as new with staple

Shower screens can rapidly develop a grimy appearance even when they aren’t particularly dirty. Not only does this create potential awkwardness when friends arrive unannounced, it’s just not pleasant to look at.

Naturally, you could simply grab the glass cleaner but if you want a cleaning hack which uses no chemicals, then you’re in luck. TikTok’s cleaning expert @jetlagremedy revealed a superb method to make glass sparkle and appear brand new, which may prove even more effective.

“How I clean glass as a professional cleaner”, she explained in a popular clip. “I’m gonna show you how I personally clean a shower screen as a professional cleaner. First up, I’ve got some spray which is [dish] detergent and water.”

She then sprayed the entirety of the screen, which meant “both inside and outside”. Following this, she advised buffing the screen with a “cloth or a soft sponge”.

The cleaning expert noted: “I personally find that doing circular motions helps.” For those whose fixed shower head cannot reach the screen, she suggested employing a bucket or bottle of water for rinsing.

She demonstrated this by pouring water along the top edge of the screen, allowing it to cascade downwards like the shower itself.

Subsequently, she used a squeegee to remove “as much of that water off” as possible. To achieve that flawless shine, she recommended drying with a microfibre towel. For additional brilliance, she prefers to use Windex or a homemade glass cleaner along with a glass cloth.

You are advised to spray it both inside and outside the screen before buffing it with a glass cloth. The promised outcome is “no soap scum, no smudge marks”, simply “an extremely clean glass panel”.

The professional cleaner advised: “You can also shine up those metal parts with some steel cleaner.”

Why is it a good idea to use natural cleaning products?
