Major Marvel superhero ‘won’t survive’ Avengers Doomsday and Secret Wars | Films | Entertainment
This Christmas marks the release of Avengers Doomsday, the first half of a two-part MCU blockbuster extravaganza that will conclude a year later with Avengers Secret Wars. Avengers Infinity War and Avengers Endgame directors The Russo Brothers are back to direct both flicks, with Robert Downey Jr playing a new role as the villainous Doctor Doom.
The Marvel multiverse is set to collide with the X-Men and Fantastic Four, co-starring alongside the MCU Avengers. And now a new leak claims a major character won’t survive the two movies. WARNING: POTENTIAL MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD.
According to reliable scooper Main Middle Man: “I’ve heard that we’re nearing the end of the Ant-Man saga. Scott Lang wont survive in the upcoming Avengers movies.” Fans will know this is Paul Rudd’s beloved shrinking superhero, who had his own solo trilogy alongside featuring in Captain America: Civil War and Avengers Endgame.
However, Rudd’s third solo film, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, was poorly received with a 46 per cent score on Rotten Tomatoes and became one of the few MCU movies to make a loss. Meanwhile, Rudd will be pushing 60 by the time Secret Wars is out, so maybe it’s a good time for his character to bow out. Although, to be honest, Michael Douglas’ Hank Pym should have done so in Ant-Man 3.
Avengers Doomsday hits cinemas on December 18 and Avengers Secret Wars follows a year later.
