The Events and Programme Manager will support the team to “deliver extraordinary events”. The role involves working across events hosted by the King and Queen, as well as other members of the Royal Family. Key responsibilities include providing “world class event management leadership and support” while forming part of a team “delivering a busy calendar” of royal and internal events.

The Royal Household job description adds: “Lead the end-to-end logistical planning of events, including detailed timelines, task delegation, and responsibility breakdowns for all key stakeholders. Ensure every logistical aspect is meticulously planned and executed to the highest standard.

“Represent the Royal Household in communicating with a wide range of external stakeholders in the lead up to events, including senior stakeholders, showcasing exceptional professionalism at all times”.

The ideal candidate must have “excellent” leadership skills to ensure tasks are “executed punctually and cost savings and efficiencies are made”.

The position requires following a busy and constantly evolving schedule, requiring the right person to remain “one step ahead” at all times. It adds: “Whether you’re helping to co-ordinate a small board meeting, a Royal dinner for two hundred or a Reception in Windsor Castle for four hundred people, you’ll guarantee the highest standard of creative delivery.”

Prospective candidates should have strong project management and organisational skills, along with a proven track record of delivering high-profile events.

The ability to perform under pressure and overcome obstacles is essential. The job description states: “Excellent verbal and written communication drafting, briefing and presentation skills, the ability to absorb and rapidly assimilate often complex and nuanced material, communicate a large volume of information succinctly and meticulous attention to detail.

“Adept at influencing and negotiation with internal and external stakeholders. A real team player, you’re able to work flexibly and effectively even when things get busy. With the ability to think quickly on your feet, you’re equally comfortable working independently.”

Preferred skills include past experience working within a high-end hospitality setting and a thorough understanding of end-to-end Food and Beverage processes.

The position starts in September and runs through to November 2027, working 37.5 hours per week from Monday to Friday, with an opening salary of £38,000 to £40,000 subject to experience.

Royal Household staff are entitled to 25 days of annual leave, in addition to bank holidays. The role also comes with complimentary admission tickets across all Royal sites, as well as “exclusive employee discounts”.

Further details about the position, which closes on June 7, can be found here.
