Holidaymakers have left glowing reviews for a handheld fan, saying it is the ‘best purchase to survive summer in the UK and when abroad’. The Tecknet Handheld Fan is currently available from Amazon for £16.99 and it comes in various colours.

It has a built-in 5,000mAh rechargeable battery, providing five to 18 hours of usage time, depending on the speed setting, the site says. It comes with a digital display for easy reading of remaining power, and there are five speed settings to choose from.

With a 150° adjustable foldable design, it can also be used as a foldable desk fan or a neck fan with the included lanyard. Plus, being constructed mainly with ABS material, the fan uses a noise-reduction motor and five fan blades, delivering strong wind at low noise levels, the brand says. It’s also lightweight at 185g and easy to put into any bags.

As an alternative purchase, shoppers could grab this Kinetik Wellbeing The Comfort Cooling Fan WW-600 from Boots for £39.99. Users can choose from three fan speeds to suit their needs, with the built-in cooling plate providing ‘targeted relief’.

At Argos, there’s also the Bush White Handheld & Foldable Desk Fan for £12. This features a single push button control, three speed settings and a folding handle. The site says it’s ideal for travelling, festivals, sports events and warm days.

The Tecknet Handheld Fan on Amazon has received many positive reviews, with shoppers leaving an average 4.6 out of five-star rating. One said: “10/10 best purchase to survive summer in the UK and when abroad. It was so good that I bought two. Has three speed functions and very powerful.”

A second said as part of a longer review: “I have four of these! I use two on either side of my bed and have them on a low setting aimed at my face and neck ALL night, usually from 11pm until 9am, and they still have only used two digits of battery. Incredible.”

While a third said: “Excellent little handheld (or sitting on its base), was really useful in the recent heatwave, took it everywhere with me in my handbag. Would recommend.”

Others left some feedback, with one saying: “I already have one of these and take it out with me on holiday. I bought another and the only slight complaint I might have is that the charging leaf is a bit more fiddly to push in to charge. Overall, these fans are brilliant for holidays.”

Someone else said: “Good size and relatively quiet, but it didn’t seem to move much air, even on its fastest (of three) setting. Looked nice, well packaged, just not quite hitting the mark.”

The Tecknet Handheld Fan is available from Amazon.
