As Princess Catherine continues championing her early childhood work, it appears her jewellery choices are quietly becoming just as influential as her tailoring. During yesterday’s engagement marking the launch of her new Early Childhood Guide through The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood, the Princess of Wales stepped out wearing a delicate pair of gold Daniella Draper earrings that instantly caught our attention.

The royal paired the brand’s £195 Tiny Cupid Hoop Earrings with the matching Baby Heart Earring Charms, which retail at £280 – bringing the total jewellery look to almost £500.

However, if you don’t fancy splashing out hundreds on a pair of everyday earrings, we have found a chic alternative on the high street from Oliver Bonas. The £45 design delivers a very similar feel to Catherine’s royal-approved jewellery choice, thanks to the same dainty gold-tone finish, subtle heart detailing and easy-to-wear hoop silhouette.

Crafted from gold-plated brass, the Oliver Bonas earrings feel slightly more fashion-led compared to Catherine’s fine jewellery version, which uses solid gold, meaning they may not have quite the same longevity with constant wear. That said, they still capture that effortlessly elegant aesthetic beautifully and feel perfect for everyday styling without the luxury price tag attached.

The smaller, lightweight shape also makes them incredibly wearable, particularly for those who prefer understated jewellery that can be styled from day to night without overpowering an outfit. Much like Catherine’s pair, they strike that sweet spot between feminine and minimalist – polished without trying too hard.

The heart charms aren’t hammered like Catherine’s, but instead have a pretty star-like design engraved onto them.

Shoppers appear equally impressed with the design, too. One customer described them as “pretty earrings [that] look expensive”, while another praised the style after buying them as a gift, writing: “Beautiful, pretty earrings with a retro edge to them. Bought as a gift for my daughter-in-law, who loved them.”
