Haircare is an important part of a beauty routine, but it can sometimes be difficult to know what to buy. At LookFantastic, there’s a hair serum that shoppers say gives them healthy-looking locks – and it is said to target a ‘lack of volume’.

The Kérastase Chronologiste Restorative Overnight Hair Serum (90ml) is currently available from LookFantastic for £55.80. This is described as a body-boosting, smoothing, replenishing hair serum for ‘overnight restoration’.

The site says the serum works to plump the fibre with moisture, making strands appear fuller, healthier and smoother. Meanwhile, oils work to add visible shine through the lengths and make hair noticeably more manageable.

It features a signature scent of bergamot, musk and rose in the formula. The brand says the serum targets dryness, dullness, lack of volume and thickness, and shoppers should be left with revitalised, smoother and fuller-looking hair.

At Boots, there’s this L’Oreal Paris Elvive Extraordinary Oil Serum (100ml) for £7.50, down from £15. This is said to transform ‘dry, lacklustre hair’, and it has been specifically designed to provide intense nourishment from the very root to the tip.

Or at Superdrug, there’s this Mielle Rosemary Mint Scalp & Hair Strengthening Oil (59ml) for £10.99. This is a nutrient-rich formula designed to invigorate the hair and scalp, and it has been infused with rosemary, mint, and biotin.

Returning to the Kérastase Chronologiste Restorative Overnight Hair Serum (90ml) from LookFantastic, this product has received an overall average rating of 4.8 out of five stars. One shopper said: “Using this alongside the densique shampoo and conditioner and my hair has not felt or looked this healthy in a long time. I wake up with smooth, beautiful smelling hair. Highly recommend if you have mature hair.”

A second person said: “Lovely smell and consistency, easy to use, made my hair feel much smoother and fuller in just a couple of days. My hair tends to be quite frizzy and really helped keep it smooth the next day.”

While a third said: “As a hairdresser, I look for products that deliver both performance and finish, and this does exactly that. The hair feels stronger, smoother and more controlled, with a noticeable reduction in frizz and a luminous shine. It’s a luxurious, high-performing product that I confidently recommend to clients.”

Others left feedback, with one writing as part of a longer review: “I think on the overnight serum you should give some advice as to how many pumps to use on different length hair. My hair hasn’t been in good condition recently due to some medication, this didn’t make my hair greasy and stopped it been frizzy on a morning, but the ends did feel a little dryer than they normally (do). So maybe I’ll leave it off the ends for a bit.”

Another said: “Great serum for thirsty hair. Regenerates elasticity. Difficult to review in salon because it’s a night serum rather than a salon use product. Clients have reported shinier hair and (it) has a nice scent.”
