Royal Mail warns 20 UK postcodes of delivery disruption
Nevertheless, it has encountered difficulties in particular locations. Royal Mail said: “We aim to deliver to all addresses we have mail for, six days a week. In a small number of local offices, this may temporarily not be possible due to local issues such as high levels of sick absence, resourcing, or other local factors.
“In those cases, we will rotate deliveries to minimise the delay to individual customers. We also provide targeted support to those offices to address their challenges and restore our service to the high standard our customers would normally receive.”
It added: “We’re sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.” This weekend, disruptions are affecting 10 delivery offices.
This is impacting 20 postcode areas across the UK, including locations in Scotland, Yorkshire, Oxfordshire and Northumberland. Earlier this week, 44 UK postcodes experienced delays across 18 delivery offices.

These included Cardiff, Pontefract, Lochgelly and Lisburn. Royal Mail’s air network operated according to schedule earlier in the week, though the road network encountered some problems.
On Tuesday, the service revealed: “Last night a vehicle was late departing the Midlands Parcel Hub for Preston and Glasgow Mail Centres.
“As a result, some mail due for delivery in the BB, FY, LA, PR, G, KA, ML and PA postcode areas may be arrive later than planned.”
Royal Mail routinely publishes service updates to keep customers informed about potential disruptions. It confirmed that weekend delivery and collection services are anticipated to operate as normal on Saturday, 28 February, with parcel deliveries proceeding on Sunday, 1 March.
Customers can retrieve items from the majority of Customer Service Points.
