Tesco has issued a product recall notice for one of its children’s arts and crafts kits, after it was revealed that it may contain trace levels of asbestos. The announcement was made on Tuesday, February 24, that toy manufacturer Addo Play Ltd and Tesco would be recalling the product from shelves.

Customers have also been urged to stop using the product immediately. All batches of the Out To Impress product are being recalled, as customers are urged to check the item for the correct details. Consumers will also be able to receive a full refund from Tesco, with or without a receipt.

The recall notice explained that no other Addo Play Ltd products sold at Tesco are affected at present.

The Out To Impress kit contains sand which may have trace levels of asbestos. In the supermarket’s recall notice, it wrote: “The overall health risk is considered low, but because asbestos shouldn’t be present in any amount, Addo Play Ltd are issuing a recall notice for this product.”
