Kendrick Lamar, SZA Drop ‘Luther’ Music Video
GNX visual arrives as the two artists prepare to launch their Grand National stadium tour later this month
Kendrick Lamar and SZA have finally released a music video for their smash GNX collaboration “Luther.”
Directed by Karena Evans, the visual serves as the perfect complement for the Luther Vandross-sampling love song. It’s filled with gorgeous, serene shots of tastefully stately locales, from giant towers to simple rooms (even what looks like the inside of a fast food restaurant has a kind of lonesome grandeur to it). Both Lamar and SZA appear in the clip as well, performing the song together, and acting out moody, romantic scenes with their respective partners, too.
“Luther” has been one of the biggest hits of 2025 so far, enjoying a steady rise up the Billboard Hot 100 charts especially after Lamar and SZA performed it during the former’s Super Bowl Halftime Show in February. As of this week, “Luther” had secured its seventh straight week at Number One on the Hot 100, too. (It’s the second song from GNX to hit Number One, following “Squabble Up,” which enjoyed a week atop the chart after GNX was released last November.)
The “Luther” video also fittingly arrives just as Lamar and SZA prepare to launch their highly-anticipated Grand National stadium tour. The trek is set to kick off April 19 in Minneapolis and wrap June 18 in Washington D.C.
Lamar and SZA have been close friends and collaborators for years, though this will be the first time they’ve ever toured together. (Lamar did join SZA onstage at her two Coachella performances in 2016 and 2018, though.) While Lamar will be supporting GNX, SZA recently released Lana, a deluxe reissue of her hit 2022 album, SOS.
