Woman shares £2.50 method that removes stains from carpets instantly
A woman has revealed an inexpensive trick to tackle stubborn carpet stains using an unexpected beauty product that won’t break the bank. Few things are more annoying than discovering a mark on your carpet, particularly if it’s a pale shade.
Marks from wine, coffee or red lipstick can prove especially tricky to shift owing to their vivid pigmentation. The last thing anyone wants is to waste their evening or weekend scrubbing away at the carpet with various products, only to see minimal improvement.
However, one woman has discovered an unconventional remedy for lifting stains from carpets, with the technique appearing to work in mere minutes.
Katy Rose Carter, who shares home renovation and beauty videos on TikTok, demonstrated the household tip, using micellar water to eliminate three marks from her beige carpet.
The footage showed her applying a small quantity of the micellar water, which retails from around £2.50, onto each stain before working it in with a cotton pad.
She then used a damp towel to blot the carpet, revealing the stains had disappeared entirely.
Katy explained: “If you don’t already know micellar water is phenomenal at getting stains out of the carpet. Just pop a tiny little amount over where the stains are, give it a rub with a cotton pad. Then go back in with just water on a cotton pad, blot it and there you have it.”
Other commenters expressed their gratitude to Katy for sharing her hack, while some offered their own tips for using micellar water.
One individual shared: “Hair dye too the amount of times I get hair dye on my grey carpet it works wonders.”
Another revealed: “Got curry with turmeric on my dressing gown! Got the micellar water on it and it’s like it was never there!”.
A third chimed in: “Great on coats too where makeup gets in the collars!”.
A fourth added: “It’s great for cleaning scuffs off trainers as well”.
