Woman confused after ‘loved-up’ couple leave note on parked car

A woman was left utterly flabbergasted after her overly affectionate neighbours sent her a complaint letter about her parking habits.

She found the note on her windscreen one morning before setting off for her daily commute, and was puzzled by its contents.

Always keen to adhere to the Highway Code and considerate of her neighbours, she ensures her car is parked safely and sensibly when not in use. Sharing her experience on Reddit, she said: “My neighbours left this on my car yesterday.”

The note read: “Hello. We understand convenience is amazing but could you possibly not park between us?

“It interrupts our couple energy. We definitely don’t mind you taking the corner spot or end spot. Peace and love.”

The pair signed their names – which have been concealed in the public post – along with the makes of their cars, a Mazda and a Passat VW.

Reacting to the post, one user suggested: “Write back with, ‘Sorry, my aura aligns best when I park here’ or some nonsense. Seems like they might understand your position then.”

Another user speculated: “I actually think the note is describing a jealous partner situation.

“One of them thinks the woman is parking next to the other out of romantic interest, and couples energy is a euphemism for their jealousy.

“It’s a ‘You caused us to fight’ note, which is on message for someone who would never say ‘I got irrationally jealous towards my partner’.

“Double-underlined ‘Not’, lots of use of ‘we’. The other partner doesn’t care. The one who wrote it is the one with issues.

“The passive-aggressive ‘suggestion’ telling the woman where to park describes how this isn’t their first rodeo displaying this kind of behaviour.”

A third user chimed in: “When I’d park next to my girlfriend, I used to joke and say, ‘Look, our cars are friends’. These people aren’t joking.”

Another user added: “I park in a garage with not very many cars. I park in the same spot every single day.

“I admit that I get unreasonably and irrationally annoyed when someone parks in ‘my’ spot. It would never, ever occur to me to leave a note on their windshield.”

Yet another user shared: “I used to drive a 77 Volkswagen Beetle. Real narrow and short little car. Could fit that thing anywhere.

“Sometimes I’d see a real small gap and parallel park in it, only to come out and find a person standing there saying they couldn’t get out, I had parked them in, they left that space for them to get out, etc.

“People really are out here leaving full car lengths between them then getting mad when you park there.”
