A woman was left traumatised after becoming trapped in her office building’s lift. Char, who shares content on TikTok under the handle @charobcharob, was in her workplace’s lift when it abruptly stopped one floor short of her destination.

Char began to panic as the doors remained shut and the lift stopped moving. With no mobile signal on her iPhone, she decided to document her ‘traumatic’ ordeal for her followers.

“What is happening? I’m in the lift at work, and it’s stopped at floor 10. I need to go to floor 11. I think I’m stuck in the lift, oh f***, she said. Char then briefly presses the lift’s alarm button, which is described as being ‘demonic’ according to concerned commenters. She continued: ” she exclaimed.

She then briefly activated the lift’s alarm button, which was described as sounding ‘demonic’ by worried commenters. She added: “I don’t know if you can hear that, there was like an alarm noise… nothing is happening.

“S***, s***, s*** I’m getting hot, I’m actually quite claustrophobic. What do I do, no one is coming? No one has said anything.”

“I feel like I’m not being very dramatic now, but I feel like I’m internally panicking. I’m getting really sweaty. I’m getting really hot, I think I need to take my coat off.”

It became evident that Char was beginning to panic as she repeatedly pressed the alarm button. After holding down the button for what she described as ‘ages’, the digital screen displaying the lift’s current floor suddenly switched off.

“I think I might be stuck in here forever.”

After being trapped in the lift for 13 minutes, Char contemplated calling the police despite having no phone signal.

She said: “I know that’s really stupid, but what am I supposed to do? No one is coming, I’ve been in here for 13 minutes. I don’t know what to do. I’m running our of air, get me out of here.”

In a state of confusion, Char removed her headphones and sat on the floor to ponder her next move. She began knocking on the lift doors and shouting for assistance, but to nobody came.

After a prolonged period of shouting and knocking, another individual in the office building heard her distress and came to investigate. Char explained: “Hi I’m stuck, I’ve been ringing the bell for like half an hour.”

The man outside the lift doors then went to fetch help. Upon their arrival, Char broke down in tears of relief, and after enduring 42 minutes inside the lift, the doors finally opened.

“I made it, oh my god, oh my god, oh my god.”

Char recounted the ordeal on TikTok, with numerous viewers praising her calm demeanour in the comments.

One user remarked: “You are ridiculously calm, I would be a goner.”

Another commented: “I would have called 999 and never taken my finger off that alarm.”

A third advised: “If you don’t have a signal you should still be able to call emergency services. You were very calm, really well done!” A fourth wrote: “This is literally my worst nightmare.”

Another TikTok user commented, “Can’t breathe watching this.”

A sixth person added, “That alarm sound is demonic. It would make me more scared.”
