Happy Model day! On Friday, Wallows released their third studio album Model, and celebrated its drop by sharing the video for the LP’s standout, “You (Show Me Where My Days Went).”

The Nina Ljeti-directed video sees the trio — Dylan Minnette, Braeden Lemasters, and Cole Preston — throwing paint on walls, ripping off wallpaper, and demolishing the inside of an apartment, but with the destruction playing in reverse. At the start, the three guys stand inside a completely damaged apartment, and as the video continues, the room returns to its original state.

“It’s funny how I’m not afraid of time with you/When I reflect, I used to deflect in fear of what more years would do,” the trio sings. “That changed because of you.”

“You (Show Me Where My Days Went)” served as the final single for the album, which features tracks such as “Bad Dream,” “I Wouldn’t Mind,” “She’s an Actress,” and “Don’t You Think It’s Strange?”

Wallows announced the album’s release via Rolling Stone in March, sharing that they let go of the “anxious tendencies” of their past music, resulting in what they believe is their lightest project yet.

“We want this to be the most approachable album we’ve made. I want people to put this on if they’re not really a fan of us, and be gripped immediately,” Minnette told Rolling Stone. “We don’t want to take too much of their attention, but we want to keep it. We keep them the whole time and make them want to come back.”

For Model, Wallows reconnected with John Congleton, who produced the group’s breakthrough album Nothing Happens (which included “Are You Bored Yet?“) back in 2019. “We let go of these pressures of what all the powers that be around us want from us and just ended up focusing on what we do and what we wanted, and it resulted in an album that very much came us,”  said Minnette. “It’s the most fresh we’ve been.”

“It resulted in a very honest and authentic album from us,” Preston said. “It’s perfectly imperfect.”

“I’ll say it’s imperfectly perfect!” laughed Lemasters.

The group is set to embark on a world tour this summer, starting their shows in Portland in August, before stopping in cities such as Austin, Atlanta, Nashville, New York, and Chicago. They’ll close their tour at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles.
