Urgent food recalls issued for mince pies, cakes and freezer staple
Over the past week, several food items have been recalled from shop shelves, with shoppers warned not to eat them. The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has released a string of allergy alerts, covering products like mince pies, cakes and freezer food, which could be dangerous if consumed.
Some of these contain allergens which aren’t mentioned on the label, and one is unsafe to eat due to the possible presence of salmonella. If you’ve bought any of the items, it’s advised that you do not eat them. Instead, you can return them to the place of purchase and receive a full refund.
Tesco Free From 4 Christmas Chocolate Flavoured Cupcakes
Tesco is recalling Tesco Free From 4 Christmas Chocolate Flavoured Cupcakes because they may contain milk which is not mentioned on the label. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.

Young’s Seafood is recalling Young’s Gastro Lemon & Pepper Fish Fillets because it contains mustard, which isn’t mentioned on the label.
This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to mustard.

London Wholesalers Ltd is recalling BOSS Sugar Free Persian Pistachio Nougat because salmonella has been found in the product. This recall only affects customers in England and Wales.

The FSA said: “Symptoms caused by Salmonella usually include fever, diarrhoea, and abdominal cramps. If you are experiencing these symptoms, you should stay away from work, school, or nursery until you have stopped having symptoms for at least 48 hours to avoid passing it on to others.”
Shoppers can get a full refund if they return the nougat to wherever they bought it from.

The Bakewell Bakery is recalling Shallow Brandy Mince Pies because they contain milk which is not mentioned on the label, meaning it’s a health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk products.
