The charming village of Lower Slaughter stands amongst the Cotswolds‘ most stunning settlements, nestled in Gloucestershire. Despite its striking name (derived from the Old English “slough”, meaning muddy place), it remains a tranquil and delightful riverside community celebrated for honey-hued stone cottages and eternal rural landscapes.

The idyllic village was highlighted by travel creator Nina, who shares content on Instagram as @traveling.dreamscapes.

She posted a reel for her 12,300 followers, describing it as a UK village where ‘nothing new has been built since 1906’.

Nina captured breathtaking views of the location as she wrote in the caption: “The dreamiest village in the UK that feels frozen in time.

“Can you believe that this little village hasn’t had anything new built since the early 1900s, which is exactly why it feels so untouched and magical!

“Hidden just 5 minutes by car from the famous Bourton-on-the-Water, or a beautiful, light half an hour walk.”

She added: “Walking through its quiet streets, you can really feel time slow down. Don’t miss the old mill by the river as it’s a favourite spot to enjoy the views and perfect for soaking in the calm, peaceful vibes of the village.
