It’s been rumoured for months now. Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz are reprising their roles as Rick and Evelyn O’Connell in The Mummy 4.

Rachel was recast for her role in 2008’s Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, but there is a rumour that that film about a Chinese mummy is being retconned.

Instead, it’s possible that this new Mummy film is a direct sequel to 2001’s The Mummy Returns.

The second movie and the 1999 original featured Arnold Vosloo as Imhotep, the undead Egyptian High Priest.

Meanwhile, The Rock played a resurrected Scorpion King, so maybe he’ll reprise his role?

What we known for sure is John Hannah is also returning as Evie’s brother Jonathan. Meanwhile, the latest news is the film’s release date has moved forward from May 19, 2028 to October 15, 2027, making it very much a Halloween horror adventure. The Mummy 4, which will be directed by Radio Silence, has switched places with Joseph Kosinski’s Miami Vice’ 85 which stars Michael B Jordan and Austin Butler.
