The Devil Wears Prada 3 – Meryl Streep and sequel cast speak out | Films | Entertainment
Two decades on from the original film and The Devil Wears Prada 2 has landed in cinemas this week.
The film’s original cast, writer and director reprise their roles in a sequel with mainly positive reviews.
The new film leaves fans with a couple of cliffhangers that we won’t spoil here so how likely is The Devil Wears Prada 3 and will we have to wait another 20 years?
Unlikely that long given Streep and Tucci are 76 and 65 respectively.
But considering the film is expected to garner around $180 million in its box office opening after its trailer was the most watched comedy trailer in 15 years with over 181 million views in its first 24 hours, the hype is real. So what do the stars think?
Speaking with Andy Cohen on SiriusXM, the host asked: “Will we be meeting back in 5, 10, 15 years?” Emily Blunt turned to her real-life brother-in-law, Stanley Tucci, and said, “Don’t say ‘I’ll be dead,’ you mustn’t say that joke!” He replied, “Alright, I’ll be infirmed.” Meanwhile, Miranda star Meryl Streep added: “I’m up for it!”.
If that wasn’t enough, Blunt told E! News how she wished her character and Tucci’s Nigel had more screen time together: “Stan and I were so angry that they didn’t give us more to do together. If we do another one, they better have us joined at the hip.”
The Devil Wears Prada 2 is out now in cinemas.
