4 – The Tenant of Wildfell Hall (1968)

This TV series sees a mysterious young widow and her son movie into a small village. They soon become the gossip of the townsfolk.
She especially attracts the interest of one gentleman. But will the secrets of her past come back to haunt her?
Based on the book by Anne Brontë, the story is largely inspired by the tragic, real-life decline and death of her brother, Branwell Brontë, who suffered from alcoholism and drug addiction.
