A story about a deadly secret, a sinister organisation, and a mission that takes agent 007 across the globe is on TV this Saturday (April 5).

Spectre (2015) sees Daniel Craig return as the world’s most famous spy, embarking on a journey that begins with a cryptic message left behind by a familiar face.

Bond’s pursuit of the truth then takes him from the vibrant streets of Mexico City to the snowy peaks of Austria, and finally to the heart of a shadowy organisation known as Spectre.

As he digs deeper, Bond uncovers a chilling connection between himself and the group’s enigmatic leader, Franz Oberhauser, played by Christoph Waltz.

But nothing is as simple as it seems, and soon, 007 finds himself facing one of his most personal and dangerous missions yet.

Directed by Skyfall mastermind Sam Mendes, Spectre also boasts a stellar cast. Léa Seydoux plays Madeleine Swann, a psychologist with a link to Bond’s past who becomes entangled in his mission. Monica Bellucci also makes a striking appearance as Lucia Sciarra, a woman caught in the dangerous web of Spectre.

Ralph Fiennes takes on the role of M, leading MI6 through turbulent times, while Ben Whishaw returns as the tech-savvy Q.

Naomie Harris reprises her role as the sharp-witted Moneypenny, and Dave Bautista delivers a powerful performance as the silent but deadly henchman Mr. Hinx. Finally, Christoph Waltz’s portrayal of Oberhauser adds a chilling intensity, making him one of Bond’s most memorable villains.

From the opening sequence in Mexico City’s Día de los Muertos celebrations to high-speed chases through Rome and a dramatic battle in the Moroccan desert, Spectre blends classic Bond elements with fresh, visually striking locations.

For longtime fans of the franchise, Spectre is a film filled with nods to Bond’s history. The mysterious organisation at the heart of the story has roots stretching back to the early Sean Connery era, making its return a much-awaited development for those who love the classic Bond villains.

Spectre will be on ITV2 this Saturday, 5 April, from 9:05 pm.
