Strictly star Vicky Pattison’s £7.50 secret to staying calm

Jo Malone London fragrances rank amongst the most renowned on the market, and now one brand has drawn inspiration from these cherished scents to develop two aromatherapy oils. Gloriah’s oils are priced at £15 each, but currently feature a buy-one get-one-free offer, meaning customers can snap up both for just £7.50 each.

The products have clearly won over celebrities, with Vicky Pattison posting a picture of her ‘training essentials’ on Instagram. During her Strictly stint, she reportedly used Slow Jam weekly to ‘help her remain composed during lengthy rehearsal sessions. Slow Jam is formulated for nighttime use, claiming to help users drift off more quickly whilst providing a soothing effect. The fragrance draws inspiration from Jo Malone’s Myrrh and Tonka (£116).

Vicky isn’t the only admirer, as the product has garnered an impressive average rating of 4.3 out of 5, reports the Manchester Evening News.

One customer commented: “This is such a calming smell, it’s hard to describe. I actually use it during the day, not just in the evening, as I find it calms me down in between meetings and helps me to focus.”

Another customer gushed: “WHERE HAS THIS BEEN ALL MY LIFE? Order it and buy several. I got the duo which included Slow Jam and Hey Sunshine and I love them. Finally something soothing in the evening to help me unwind that doesn’t smell like old lady lavender. I love putting it on the pulse points on my wrist and falling asleep to the gorgeous scent. The Hey Sunshine is also a really lovely, invigorating smell for the morning too. Both bottles have a really good amount of oil in the bottles, cute packaging and fit nicely on a bedside or a handbag. Love love love love LOVE!”

Several three-star reviews exist for the product, though when examined they contain positive comments such as: “Might be my fave GLORIAH product!” and “Even on stressful days, this scent helps me take a breath and slow down.”

One buyer did express disappointment about the fragrance strength, stating: “I couldn’t smell anything Wondering what all the hype was about.”

As the team’s fragrance specialist, whilst I haven’t personally tested the Gloriah scents, I have sampled other energy-enhancing perfumes. Regarding Moods (£25), although there were clear effects, these weren’t fragrances I would naturally choose.

The Being collection (£85) suited my preferences better, though I frequently discover that mood-altering fragrances don’t resemble traditional perfume. It’s fascinating that Gloriah oils draw their fragrance inspiration from Jo Malone, which could be the secret to their appeal.

Hey Sunshine takes its cue from Jo Malone’s Wood Sage and Sea Salt (£56 for 30ml) and is designed for morning application.

The product claims to enhance energy levels, promote feelings of being ‘clear-headed and focused’, and serve as a substitute for that second cup of coffee.

Whilst we haven’t sampled this particular fragrance, customers are evidently devoted fans, awarding it an impressive 4.8 out of 5 rating.

One delighted customer shared: “Love starting my morning with this. It’s fresh, bright, and makes me feel like I’ve got my life together!”

Another customer commented: “If I need a boost but don’t want another coffee, I just roll this on. Works every time!”
