The master of horror is the mind behind so many classics — It, The Shining and Carrie, just to name a few. But when Stephen King isn’t writing new masterpieces, he’s a voracious reader.
The acclaimed author has shared that he typically reads around 80 books a year, remarking: “So many books, so little time.” But which titles does he treasure most? He shared a cherished memory that took place in his native Lisbon Falls, Maine. With just a few dollars to spare at a discount store, he gambled more than half his budget on a volume he called “the best $2.25 I ever spent”.
