Squeeze cancelled their show at Wolf Trap in Vienna, Virginia, after a worker was crushed to death by a tour bus he was working on in the venue’s parking lot. According to police (via Fox 5), the worker, who has not been identified by name, was under the tour bus when a supporting apparatus failed and the bus collapsed on top of him.

“Squeeze are deeply saddened and shocked by an incident that occurred at the venue earlier today, which resulted in the loss of a life,” the band said in a statement. “After discussions with the venue and the relevant authorities, the decision was made to cancel this evening’s performance. We will work with the promoter and venue regarding the possibility of rescheduling the show and will communicate further information to ticket holders as soon as it is available. Our thoughts remain with everyone affected by this tragic event.”

Wolf Trap added on social media, “There was an accident involving a member of the community at Wolf Trap National Park today, tragically resulting in a loss of life. Out of respect, tonight’s show has been canceled.”

Wolf Trap, also known as Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts, is a popular venue just outside Washington, D.C. It hosts a variety of music and arts events. The next scheduled show is National Symphony Orchestra, who will perform a “Jerry Garcia Symphonic Celebration” tonight.
