Shoppers race to buy new Uniqlo’s ‘luxurious’ new £25 top but it’s alr

Uniqlo regularly drops collaborations with designers and artists, from JW Anderson to Sesame Street, and while those have all had their moment, the latest release is the one really getting people talking (and, from what I’m seeing on social media, adding things straight to basket). It’s been everywhere on my feeds lately, and it’s easy to see why.

This time, Uniqlo has teamed up with Cecilie Bahnsen, the Copenhagen-based designer known for her dreamy, cloud-like silhouettes and romantic, feminine detailing. What’s interesting here is how well that softer aesthetic has been translated into something that still feels very on brand for Uniqlo: practical, comfortable, and genuinely easy to wear day-to-day.

Rather than simply recreating Bahnsen’s runway pieces at a lower price point, the collaboration still feels like classic Uniqlo staples reworked with touches of her signature style. There’s some subtle volume, soft textures, and delicate shaping, all grounded in wearable, everyday silhouettes. The colour palette keeps things simple and summer-ready too, with all items in white, black, pinks, reds and gingham. And with prices starting from just £20, it’s also accessible.

That said, pieces are already selling out quickly, including a gingham top that shoppers have been calling “luxurious” despite coming in at under £25.

For me, the top is one of the real standouts in the collection. It’s a simple summer piece you can just throw on without thinking, but it still looks put together. It would work just as well with jeans or shorts as it would with the matching skirt (another of my favourite pieces from the collection). But, again, it has design details that are clearly a nod to Bahnsen, including soft shirring, gentle volume through the body, and light, fluttery finishes.

It’s available in sizes XXS to XXL, although some shoppers have noted it runs a little small. On the plus side, it’s priced at £24.90. But, it’s already selling fast, and there’s no word yet from Uniqlo on whether a restock is coming.

One reviewer said: “The gingham is woven, not printed, and the fabric is flowy but firm, making this top feel luxurious. Honestly, you can’t go wrong with this one or the sleeveless; both pair so lovely with the skirt! I usually wear size S or sometimes XS, and although size S looked good at the waist, the fabric was pulling a bit at the neckline. M was more comfortable, yet still slim enough at the waist.”

Another added: “Wrinkle-resistant fabric, beautiful cut, and despite the print, this style doesn’t add bulk. A timeless and chic garment.”

Of course, the collection goes well beyond one viral favourite. As a shopping editor, I’ve taken the opportunity to dig through the range and pull together a few more standout pieces that I love (and have already popped in my basket before they sell out).
