Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., used his opening remarks to say that former CDC director Susan Monarez was fired because she refused to be a “rubber stamp” for Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and his agenda. Sanders also took time to criticize the agenda and policies of the Department of Health and Human Services under Kennedy.
