Sainsbury’s shoppers with kids have just days to feel prepared for the new school year in September and claim a discount on school uniforms. Items are cut in price to as low as £3, saving parents time and money on gathering all the necessary items before their children go back to school after the summer holidays.

The current deal, offering 20% off the supermarket’s unbranded selection, ends on Sunday, June 21. Deals include essential items children will wear to school daily, such as tops, trousers, skirts, shorts, and shoes.

Sainsbury’s clothing range Tu has crafted the latest school uniform collection with “great value and practical design features” in mind for the school year ahead. Supermarket bosses claim the range is designed to help families buy key items at affordable prices.

Across the collection, durability is built in as standard, with features including reinforced knees, permanent pleats, colour-retaining fabrics and scuff-resistant finishes on selected footwear styles. Easy-care details such as non-iron shirts and stain-resistant finishes are also standard to make everyday wear much easier for families.

The footwear range is designed with everyday wear in mind, combining comfort with hard-wearing finishes across a broad choice of school-ready styles. More clothes feature Sainsbury’s ‘Easy Dressing’ feature, which helps children get ready independently on busy school mornings, with features such as touch-and-close fastenings and pull-on trousers.

Melinda Harris, Tu’s director of product, said: “With tight budgets and busy lives, we know back-to-school shopping can feel like a lot for families. That’s why we’re focused on making school uniform reliable and affordable, with everyday schoolwear that combines comfort, quality and value.

“From reinforced knees and non-iron shirts to scuff-resistant footwear and practical details that help children dress more independently, the range is designed around real school mornings and busy school days. By holding prices for a fourth year and offering 20% off for a limited time, we’re helping families shop with confidence and find uniform that is made to last.”

Plenty of stores are offering discounts and deals. Lidl recently announced an upcoming sale in its stores later this month with selected bundles of uniform costing parents £5.

What items are on offer at Sainsbury’s?

The supermarket’s uniform range has been cut down to as little as £3 per item, with some items coming as multipacks. There are multipacks of Unisex Polo Shirts from £2.40, available in a variety of options to match your school colours.

The 20% off deal does not include items like coats, socks, tights, backpacks, and clearance footwear. See the full range of eligible options here – available to buy in stores and online.
