Punk stalwarts Rise Against have dropped a new music video for their recent single, “Nod.”

Released in January, just a few days after President Donald Trump’s inauguration, “Nod” isn’t overtly political, but contains a particularly potent rallying cry for this moment: “I swear to god this can’t wait/One more minute, one more day/I feel the ground shaking underneath me,” Tim McIlrath sings on the chorus, “There’s a lot here at stake/If you’re hearing what I’m saying/Just nod if you understand me.”

After dropping the song, Rise Against added “Nod” to the live sets on their recent tour of Europe, the U.K., and South America. The new visual captures some of those explosive performances — complete with pyrotechnics and bullhorn — while also offering footage of the band backstage.

Rise Against are also set to launch their “Rise of the Roach” tour with Papa Roach later this month. The first leg of the North American trek kicks off March 20 at the Toyota Center in Houston and wraps April 13 at the Xcel Energy Center in Saint Paul, Minnesota; the second leg starts Sept. 10 in at the Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater in Bridgeport, Connecticut and ends Oct. 5 at the iTHINK Financial Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach, Florida. (Rise Against will return to Europe in between the two legs.)

“Nod” marks Rise Against’s first new song in three years, following the 2022 release of their EP, Nowhere Generation II. That project was a follow-up to the Chicago band’s most recent full-length album, Nowhere Generation, which arrived in 2021.
