Primark customers have applauded a “comfortable” pair of trousers for being size-inclusive and wallet-friendly. The high street retailer stocks a variety of trousers, though one particular pair has caught the attention of certain shoppers.

One shopper has even likened the trousers to Cos’ Barrel Leg Trousers, which retail at £75 and are available in five colours. Kate McCaskill said: “I may have found the perfect Cos Barrel Trousers dupe that actually fits above a size 16.” The TikTok user revealed she was searching for barrel-leg trousers that accommodate plus sizes while delivering the coveted silhouette, like the Cos versions, which come in sizes 32 to 44.

Kate tried on three different shades of Primark’s Casual Barrel Leg Trousers, costing £16 each. They’re available in black, camel, khaki and white across sizes XXS up to XXL.

After testing the trousers, Kate said: “I am obsessed with the silhouette, the shape, the fit of these. They are so comfy, they’re really flattering, not that it matters, but I just like how they fit on me. However, they are quite long.”

Kate added: “They’re stretchy, they’ve got a tie [waist], which is so important for me for comfort. I would really recommend these trousers if you are looking for a cost-effective alternative that is also size-inclusive.

“These were only £16 a pair, which I think is so reasonable. I think they are super comfy, super stylish and obviously there are different colours to choose from.”

Despite the trousers being slightly too long for Kate, she said she didn’t mind and would turn them up instead. Other shoppers shared her enthusiasm, with one commenting: “Ooh! very nice.”

Another replied: “No, you’re so right. They look great on you.” While another customer said: “Okay, I’m buying them all!” The product description for the Primark trousers states: “Step into comfort with these casual barrel leg trousers.

“Designed with an elasticated waistband and an adjustable drawstring, they offer a relaxed fit through the hips and thighs. The barrel-leg silhouette tapers slightly at the cropped ankle, giving a modern, casual shape.

“Crafted from a lightweight, textured fabric, these trousers feel soft and breathable for all-day wear. Functional side-seam pockets add practicality, while the black tone makes them versatile for everyday outfits.

“Perfect for relaxed weekends or smart-casual styling, they combine comfort, ease, and a touch of contemporary design.”

Primark is not the only high street retailer offering barrel-leg trousers. ASOS stocks its own ASOS DESIGN pull-on barrel trousers across five colour options.

The trousers, available in khaki, cream, chocolate, yellow and pink, are priced at £28 and come in sizes four to 18.

Meanwhile, Uniqlo offers Jersey Barrel Leg Trousers in black, dark grey, off-white and dark brown for £34.90, available in XXS through to XXL across a variety of lengths.
