People are now discovering button on microwave that silences beeps
People are now realising a secret function on their microwaves—and it’s not for heating up food.
Microwaves are a great addition to any kitchen because of their speed and cost-effective cooking. However, a significant flaw of this key kitchen appliance is its obnoxious beeping, which creates constant noise when being used.
Some high-tech models include a silent mode function with a sound or speaker icon to turn off the irritating beeping, but for those that lack this function, it deceives people into believing that the beeps cannot be silenced.
Now, experts at Taste of Home have revealed a secret method to deactivate the sound on your microwave. They shared: “The most irritating sound in your kitchen probably comes from the microwave timer.
“If today’s a day where you can’t handle the beeping, here’s how to mute your microwave.”
Many people think the numbers on your microwave only act as a heating function; however, you can mute your microwave by pressing and holding down the 0, 1, or stop buttons.
According to the home experts: “These buttons may have secret functions programmed by the manufacturers to help you turn off your microwave’s beeps.”
However, it is important to note that no two microwaves are the same, so this method may not work for all appliances.
An American creator on TikTok, Matty McTech, said that homeowners should press and hold down the number two to mute their microwave.
If all else fails, it is always best to check your microwave manual. The expert warned: “Chances are there’s a simple way to deactivate the sound that accompanies your microwave’s timer.
“You may just have to do a little reading or consult the internet to find it.”
