2025 is the year of the Wood Snake, but some houseplants are said to be lucky no matter what time of the year it is. Experts at Crown Pavilions have identified five of the luckiest houseplants to have in your home.

To attract positive energy and good fortune look to the lucky Bamboo houseplant, known for its strength and resilience. Anybody wanting to feel stronger in 2025 is encouraged to get a Bamboo plant, which is said to “bring prosperity, fortune, and positive energy”.

The expert said the “fast-growing plant” can be planted all year round, but don’t expect any blooms – “it is primarily grown for its attractive stalks and leaves”.

Another houseplant to consider is the money tree, which symbolises abundance and prosperity. The experts advised placing the money tree in the “southeast area of your home” to align with Feng Shui tradition.

Wait till spring to plant the money tree to take advantage of the growing season. Any sooner, the money tree will not be in its growth stage, and money may stagnate.

“They can produce flowers, which is rare when grown indoors, so they are mainly valued for their foliage and braided trunks,” the experts noted.

For people wanting to cultivate better friendships and more money, the Jade plant is recommended. “In Feng Shui, Jade plants symbolise prosperity and friendship due to their coin-shaped leaves,” the experts elaborated.

“They bloom with small, star-shaped white or pink flowers, usually occurring in late winter to early spring.”

To increase a sense of romance – whether taken or single – anorchid could be for you.

The experts elaborated: “Representing beauty, love, and refinement, orchids are perfect for intensifying romantic energy and creating balance in relationships.

“They have a varied blooming period depending on the species, with many common types blooming in late winter to early spring, often from January to March. They’re also incredibly low maintenance, making them a perfect good luck charm.”

Then for more romance, peach blossoms are the ultimate houseplant to have around your home. “Peach blossoms symbolise romance, prosperity, and growth, making them ideal for attracting love and success,” the experts said.

“Peach blossoms typically bloom from late January to early March, around the Chinese New Year.”
