Northwestern, Texas A&M and More

Henry Bienen, who served as president of Northwestern University from 1995 to 2009, has been named the university’s interim president, effective Sept. 16, following the resignation of President Michael Schill.

Bonita Brown, former interim president of Northern Kentucky University, was installed Sept. 19 as the first female permanent chancellor of Winston-Salem State University, an HBCU in the University of North Carolina system.

Phil Cook, former president and CEO of the North American Coalition for Christian Admissions Professionals, was installed Sept. 19 as president of Lee University in Tennessee, where he previously worked various jobs in admissions and as vice president of enrollment.

Melinda Treadwell, president of Keene State College in New Hampshire, has been appointed president of SUNY Geneseo, effective Oct. 27.

Tommy Williams, a former Texas state senator who previously served as vice chancellor of governmental relations for the Texas A&M system, has been named interim president of Texas A&M University, following the resignation of President Mark Welsh.
