Summer is well on its way, and with it comes wedding season – meaning plenty of shoppers will be on the lookout for that perfect wedding guest dress. For those of us who feel a little self-conscious, however, rails full of slinky, silky dresses can fill us with dread, but savvy shoppers have found a stunning dress from Nobody’s Child that is said to be ‘flattering’ and ‘perfect for day or evening’.

The Nobody’s Child Black Polka Dot Marley Maxi Dress is elegant and stylish while still being comfortable, buyers say, with its short ruffled sleeves and layered skirt. It usually costs £130, but shoppers can get 25% off with the code PICKME if they shop before Saturday, bringing the price down to £97.50.

The dress has a flattering round neckline and Empire waist, which drops into a relaxed, full-length skirt that will pair nicely with some fancy heels. It’s lightly lined, so feels premium, and the brand says it fits true to size so shoppers can purchase the size they usually wear – it’s available in sizes 4 to 18.

If the black and white polka dot design isn’t calling out to shoppers, they could take a look at the Maya Deluxe Floral Self-Tie Halter Neck Maxi Dress, which is now £71.25 down from £95 at Debenhams. This one comes in a light green with subtle floral detailing, and has a paneled chiffon skirt with a flattering pleated waist.

Those looking for something a little more vibrant could try the Tulle Bow Party Dress from Boden – in a vibrant pink shade, it’s covered in tulle ruffles for a standout look and has a sleeveless design that’s perfect for balmy summer days. Plus, it’s now £164.25 with code 3PPA, down from £219.

Back to the Nobody’s Child Black Polka Dot Marley Maxi Dress, and buyers seem very happy with their purchase. One five-star shopper said: “Simply lovely dress. Great for many occasions. I am very conscious of my tummy area and the cut and pattern really is flattering. Fabric is very comfortable to wear.”

Another said: “Beautiful dress, so flattering, and really well made. Can dress up or down. Excellent service, delivered quickly and refunds sorted for other items bought to try.”

A third added: “Beautiful dress, perfect for day or evening. Flattering form and great length, even on petite frame. A new wardrobe favourite!”

However, one noted that the fabric was heavier than they expected: “Great fit. Looks good on and slimming. Material slightly heavier than I expected. Plan to wear to a wedding in June.”

Another said: “I love the shape of this dress. The sleeves are also very flattering. I would prefer if the polka dots were smaller though.”
