Nobody wants to rehome two cats with ‘alien eyes’

A statement from Miracle’s Mission reads: “Leo and Lily before and after transformation! Now they need a home (together) in the UK. They were found on the streets in Egypt in this horrendous state. But they made a good recovery and thankfully no eyes needed to be removed – remarkably!

“They are now two years old and weigh 4kg. They are both neutered and can be prepared for travel if a home comes forward. They both live with other cats currently. They are calm, peaceful animals and closely bonded to each other.”

Responding to the rehoming appeal, one user wrote: “Poor babies. I can’t believe how bad their eyes were! They are lovely cats. I hope they find a loving home together!”

Another commented: “What beautiful cats. How amazing do they look now.” A third simply stated: “They’re stunning.”

Established in 2015, Miracle’s Mission operates to “provide a place of safety for animals in danger, educate on the need for neutering both pets and strays, and neuter stray dogs and cats to prevent the birth of more animals living on the streets.” Detailing the origins of the charity’s name, it stated: “Miracle was rescued from the streets of Borneo at one week old, before her tiny eyes were even open.”

She was discovered with her siblings in an extremely remote location, where they had presumably been abandoned and were severely ill. The puppies were infested with maggots, suffering from ringworm and blood parasites. Tragically, Miracle’s siblings did not survive.

Miracle received care, and while she faced a lengthy journey to recovery, she underwent an amazing transformation. She is now robust, content and healthy, residing with her adopted sisters Star and Tess, who were also rescued from Borneo. Her purpose is to help save countless more animals in need across the globe.

Miracle is the namesake of our charity, and her story mirrors many others around the world. However, not all of these animals are as fortunate as she was in finding a loving home where they are spoilt rotten”.

Anyone interested in adopting Leo and Lily – or another animal in Miracle’s Mission’s care – can contact the charity via info@miraclesmission. org.
